New Super Mario Bros Wii (Wii)
I thought I'd finally finish this after playing and enjoying SM3DW earlier in the month. I know the high intertia platforming in this game is authentic to the original SMB games and is arguably even more realistic than the more agile Mario of the 3D games, but this just felt sluggish in comparison. I played the first world and realized I wasn't having any fun with it.

Skul: The Hero Slayer (PC)
It wants to be a roguelite ARPG with some Kirby influences, but pitiful room and enemy variety mixed with extremely grindy progression ruin that. Difficulty is more a function of how lucky you get with skull drops than anything else, and there's no real way to plan a build.

Metal Unit (PC)
Also a roguelite ARPG, but more inspired by Dead Cells this time. Alas, it's brought down by terrible writing and generally boring combat.

Treasure Hunter Simulator (PC)
A decent podcast game that's just too long and repetitive for its own good. Playing hot and cold with a metal detector and finding a nail for the 100th time is not fun. Might've worked with more interesting treasures or a deeper search mechanic.

PC Building Simulator (PC)
The store description suggested it'd help learn how to diagnose a PC, but in the early levels there's absolutely nothing to learn if you're even remotely familiar with how building works. Maybe it gets somewhere interesting eventually. I got bored.

Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair (PC)
I had high hopes for actually liking this one after the series moved to 2D platforming, but Yooka just doesn't feel good to control and I still find the humor grating.

Youropa (PC)
I never get motion sick from games. Unless, that is, it's like Youropa and zooms in to about an inch behind the character before swinging the camera around wildly with Super Mario Galaxy-esque levels. The faceless blob main character is kinda gross, too.

The Last Tinker: City of Colors (PC)
A platformer which does not have a jump button. Seems like someone saw the parkour mechanic in Assassin's Creed II and decided to make a whole game about that, but it's just boring.
